Schaeffler

INA

Schaeffler has been moving the world for over seven decades. It all began over 75 years ago, when two brothers, Wilhelm and Georg Schaeffler, set up the company Industrie GmbH in Herzogenaurach. This was the “big bang” moment that would ultimately give rise to a leading global motion technology company with around 110,000 employees. In time, three independently successful companies – INA, LuK, and FAG – would come together to create a global technology leader with the DNA of a family business.

Schaeffler offers bearing solutions for all types of drives, whether mechanical, electric, or hydraulic. Thanks to its application-specific engineering expertise, Schaeffler covers both stationary and mobile drives for every industrial application

LuK

Lamellen- und Kupplungsbau August Häussermann was established in 1965, with the Schaeffler brothers as initial investors. It became a technological leader in clutch systems, and INA took full ownership of the company in 1999.

Fag

FAG originally stood for “Fischer’s Automatische Gussstahlkugelfabrik” (Fischer’s Automatic Steel Ball Factory), a German company founded in 1883 in Schweinfurt, Germany by engineer Friedrich Fischer. Fischer invented the ball grinding machine, enabling mass-production of precision steel balls — a foundational innovation for modern ball and roller bearings.

FAG became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rolling bearings, supplying parts for automotive, industrial machinery, aerospace, and many other mechanical applications.
